LAND DONATION: Land owners are in a unique position to
contribute to the Land Trust’s and the State’s goals of preserving
open space. Land can be donated through numerous ways,
including a fee simple transaction, donating or selling
development rights, or placing conservation easements on the
property. In many cases property owners may receive substantial
    tax benefits for such donations.

VOLUNTEER/STEWARDSHIP: The Land Trust is always seeking
volunteers to assist in maintaining and clearing trails and keeping
the open space of East Greenwich clean for wildlife and for the
enjoyment of community residents. Stewardship of the Town’s
open space and trails also means using them responsibly and
properly disposing of your waste. Remember — every day is Earth
    Day.

ESTATE PLANNING: A simple will can cause problems for heirs,
including wasting tens of thousands of dollars in potential tax
savings and leaving a difficult tax planning dilemma. There are
estate planning tools available that protect land, lower estate tax
liability and/or provide funds for paying taxes. Good estate
planning could save you money now and save your heirs money
    later.
